Compassion has been the most recent scientific development in terms of mind trainings. In societies that encourage to constantly compete with each other, our sense of self-worth rises and falls according to our latest success or failure with almost no control from our side. Research have found that developing kindness and compassion for ourselves and others builds our confidence, helps us create meaningful, caring relationships and promotes physical and mental health. Far from fostering emotional weakness, we now know that our brains are also hardwired to respond to kindness and compassion and we can therefore heal destructive emotional patterns.
There it is, the alternative to a destructive self-esteem, a more effective path to happiness: self-compassion.
The Compassionate Mind Set journey starts with an 8-10 week course and it preferably follows the experience and the practice of an MBSR or Breathworks course.
